Now Nine Games Below .500

The Nats lost 6-2 on Wednesday night at Citi Field for their fourth straight defeat. Al & Mark wonder if this latest stretch is indicative of where things are headed or just a tough portion of the schedule due to the lack of days off.

(06:00) Derek Law continued his trend of not holding inheriting runners after taking over for Patrick Corbin in the bottom of the 6th. The hosts put into perspective how much Law has struggled under those circumstances this season.

(14:00) Corbin is quantitatively the worst starting pitcher in the majors as he has the highest WHIP. Corbin allowed four runs and only lasted 73 pitches vs. the Mets.

(19:00) Juan Yepez had a RBI single and has been consistently playing 1B since he and Joey Meneses swapped roster spots last week. Yepez is 7 for 24 since being promoted from Rochester.

(24:00) Ildemaro Vargas got the start at 3B and Trey Lipscomb was given the night off. This is noteworthy because last week it seemed like 3B was Lipscomb's job until Brady House eventually makes his way to Washington.
